Lorena Fadi Gonçalves da Rocha is a singer of the evangelical band Preto no Branco and regional articulator of the Movimento Negro Evangelico Brasil (MNE) in the southeast region.
The MNE is dedicated to recognizing people who have experienced racism in their faith communities. Its members hold beliefs based on Black theology that combat religious fundamentalism both at the institutional level and in civil society. To further this mission, they engage in political interventions, create listening spaces, hold meetings in churches, and lead forums, among other projects.
This movement is present in approximately 13 Brazilian states, and Lorena coordinates one of these groups in the city of São Paulo. This breadth and recognition give them the ability to bring the gospel of Jesus of Nazareth to various territories to fight racism in this country.
