Catalina Arias is a Chilean pastor, theologian, and researcher based in Argentina. Her work focuses on feminist theology and pastoral accompaniment to survivors of spiritual and religious violence. After working with feminist groups in Chile and Argentina, she formed the collective Mujeres Cristianas Feministas (Christian Feminist Women), with which she has participated in marches and established links with organizations such as Otros Cruces and Sororidad y Fe (Sorority and Faith).
But beyond the streets, Catalina has found a new place to pursue her activism: social media. Through the creation of valuable content, she spreads messages about the need for Christianity, human rights, and gender equality to coexist. Feminist theology and Christianity, legal abortion, sexual dissidence, and sisterhood are just some of the topics she addresses in her posts.
She also uses her platforms to report on the spiritual violence suffered by women and hopes that through her research she can have an impact such as criminalizing this type of violence in the legislation of all Latin American countries. Although it may seem far-fetched, her goal is to contribute to making this initiative a reality.
